I Chose You

“You  did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”

John 15:16 (NIV)

Something I have come to believe with all my heart, is that we have been chosen for our children. It is not by accident that our children were born and entrusted into our care. But God’s plan for our family and our future is that we have been chosen for one another.  A child with special- needs is not a burden to bear. They are a precious gift that we have been chosen to fight for, pray for, believe for so that they might become all that God has intended them to be. We are chosen to sit on the front row. We get the best view. We get to have an experience that is not for the faint of heart. We were chosen for this.

Be encouraged today that you are chosen for your child BY GOD. He loves you. His plans for you are good. He will carry you and equip you for every season. He will lead you and your child every step of the way. We can get discouraged when we think about our lack, our fatigue, the real and raw emotions of parenting. Rather than tuning into yourself, tune into the truth of who God is….

Remind yourself of who God is-

1. He is faithful

2. He is near

3. He is in control

4. He is your supply of strength

5. He is peace

6. He gives wisdom

7. His mercy is new every morning

8. He will never leave you or forsake you

9. He is who he says He is

10. He loves your child even more than you do

You can do this because He is with you! You are chosen!
